Papaverine HCL: a smooth-muscle relaxant that promotes blood flow within the erectile tissue. 

Phentolamine Mesylate: an alpha-adrenergic blocker that helps reduce signals that cause smooth-muscle contraction.

PAPAVERINE HCL:

  • Papaverine helps relax the smooth muscle surrounding the penile blood vessels.

PHENTOLAMINE MESYLATE:

  • Phentolamine blocks alpha-adrenergic receptors involved in sympathetic signaling. 
  • This can reduce smooth-muscle contraction and support the vascular changes associated with an erection.

ALPROSTADIL:

  • Alprostadil is a prostaglandin E1 medication that directly promotes smooth-muscle relaxation and vasodilation. 
  • It is an established intracavernosal treatment for ED and is one of the key components used in combination injection therapy.

ATROPINE SULFATE:

  • Atropine blocks muscarinic acetylcholine receptors. 
  • It has been included in some four-drug intracavernosal formulations, but clinical evidence does not clearly show that adding atropine always improves erectile response.

    Phenylephrine is a safety medication sometimes prescribed to help resolve an erection that does not go down after Quad-Mix. It is included complimentary with your first order when prescribed or with every subscription order. Use only exactly as your provider directs. If an erection lasts 4+ hours, go to the ER immediately even if you have phenylephrine on hand.

An erection usually lasts for 30 to 60 minutes. This can vary. But if it lasts over 4 hours, this is considered a medical emergency.

Quad-Mix is used shortly before sex. That’s because it usually takes about 5-10 minutes to get an erection after your dose. But if you don’t get an erection, don’t give yourself another dose unless instructed by your healthcare provider. Don’t take a different ED medication unless directed to — this can be dangerous. Make sure you’re not using expired medication, since this could be the culprit. But if Quad-Mix isn’t working for you, your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose.

The vial of Quad-Mix that you are currently using should be stored in the refrigerator. Quad-Mix can be left at room temperature for a short period while you are using it. While traveling, transport Quad-Mix with an ice pack.
